» What are Flash and Shockwave files and do you support them?
Flash is a very popular format for adding animation to web pages. Support for Flash is already built into most web browsers. Browser "plug-ins" are available for most of those web browsers which don't automatically support Flash (mostly older browsers).

Shockwave is a lot older than Flash and was originally intended for use creating multi-media CD-ROMs. It is more powerful (and more expensive) than Flash.

In most cases Flash is the best choice for use over the Web as it was designed specifically for Web use and also has the advantage of smaller file sizes.

All of our accounts support both Macromedia Flash and Macromedia Shockwave files. However, we recommend that you sign up for at least the Standard Plan if you intend to make more than minimal use of animation in your site, due to the increased storage and data transfer requirements of this type of file.
