» What is PHP and can I run PHP scripts in my account?
All of our UK web hosting plans support PHP scripts.

PHP is a popular server side scripting language which, like CGI scripts, may be used to make your site more interactive. For example, PHP scripts may be used to process information from form submissions, store and retrieve information to/from MySQL databases and deliver dynamically created web pages.

PHP is easier to use than most other scripting languages (such as CGI scripts written in Perl) and allows you to include your PHP commands in the same file as your ordinary HTML tags.

PHP pages should normally be given a .php extension, but PHP may also be configured to work with any file extension, including the standard .html and .htm extensions, if you should find this more convenient.

If you would like to learn more about PHP, the official PHP web site is a good place to start. At the PHP site you will find an introductory tutorial on using PHP, a list of links to other PHP related sites, and even a complete PHP Manual.
