» How do I set up additional e-mail accounts?
All of our UK web hosting plans allow you to set up additional e-mail accounts (or mailboxes). This allows you to store e-mails which are addressed to different users in separate mailboxes which may be downloaded (or viewed online using Web Mail) independently using different usernames. Only the individual(s) who know the appropriate passwords will have access to the mail stored in each mailbox.

You may set up from 5 to 80 e-mail accounts, depending on your plan type.

It is important to realise that all mail sent to anything_at_all@yourdomain.co.uk will reach your "main" mailbox by default (unless a specific mailbox, forwarder or autoresponder exists for this particular address), so there is no need to set up a separate mailbox for a_particular_name@yourdomain.co.uk unless you want any mail sent to this address to be stored and accessed separately.

You can easily add (or remove) e-mail accounts using the Add/Remove E-mail Accounts option within the Mail Manager in your Control Panel.

Once you have set up an additional e-mail account (user@yourdomain.co.uk for example) you may configure your local e-mail program to access it using the following information:

Incoming (POP3) mail server: yourdomain.co.uk (where yourdomain.co.uk represents your own domain name)
Username: user@yourdomain.co.uk (for example)
Password: The password you entered when you created this e-mail account

For your outgoing (SMTP) mail server setting we recommend that you continue to use your ISPs own SMTP mail server.
See Do you provide an SMTP mail server? for an explanation of why this is the preferred setting.

You may also check this mailbox through Web Mail by entering the same username and password.

Note that the username is your full e-mail address and includes your master domain name (eg user@yourdomain.co.uk). This is in contrast to the preinstalled "main" mailbox for which you may use your normal hosting plan user name without appending @yourdomain.co.uk.

For more help with e-mail, please refer to the E-mail section of our Online Manual.
