» What is a Domain Name?
A domain name is your own unique address on the Internet which can be used for accessing your site on the Web and also forms part of your personalised e-mail address(es).

For example, if you were to register the UK domain name yoursite.co.uk then the home page of your site would be viewable at http://www.yoursite.co.uk and you could receive e-mail sent to anyname@yoursite.co.uk.

Having your own domain name has many advantages, including making your site address easy for your friends, colleagues or clients to remember, and giving your site a more professional image.
