» Can I park additional domain names "on top of" my main domain name?
Parked domains are available for all plan types except the Basic Plan. Please refer to our Plans page for details of how many domains may be parked free of charge for each plan type. Of course, you will still need to pay for the registration (and renewal) of any additional domains, either through Efficient Hosting or your own choice of domain registrar.

Parked domains are different to pointed domains in that they will direct your visitors to exactly the same web page files as your main domain.

A common use for parked domains is to make your site accessible using variations of the same name. For example, we have efficienthosting.net parked on top of efficienthosting.co.uk. When you visit either domain, the same content is shown, and the browser address bar reflects the domain that you typed in.

By default, any mail sent to parked domains will end up in the "main"mailbox of your hosting account. This is the mailbox accessed using your main hosting account user name and password, as given in your Welcome Email.
True mailboxes may only be created for your master domain (the main domain of your account), but it is still possible to customise the handling of mail sent to parked domains. This can be done by changing the default address for all mail sent to a given parked domain which is unmatched by a specific forwarder or auto responder. Further customisation can be achieved by creating forwarders for mail sent to specific e-mail addresses at specific parked
domains.
For more on understanding and customising mail handling for parked domains, please refer to the Parked/PointedDomains section of our Email documentation.
If you need even greater flexibility than we provide for mail sent to parked domains, an alternative is to set up the parked domain MX record to target mail off the system to one of the free e-mail management services that are available.
