You will probably prefer to use your own domain name when hosting
your site with Efficient Hosting. A "proper" web address such as mikeswidgets.co.uk
is easy for your visitors to remember and helps give your site a professional image.
If you already have an Internet domain name registered, we can help you have it "transferred"
to point at your new account with us. This is normally free of charge, but we may
need to make a transfer charge of 15 pounds for some UK domains.
If you are yet to register a domain for your personal or business site then don't
delay. Thousands of domains are registered every day on a "first come, first served"
basis. You can check whether your choice of domain name is still available using the
form at the top right of this page.
We can register your domain at a bargain price when you sign up for one of our
UK web hosting plans. The charge for your domain will be added to your first month's
website hosting fee.
Our charge for domain name registration depends on the type of "extension" (or "first level" domain) you prefer:

For clients with domains registered through Efficient Hosting we are
currently charging these same prices when domains come up for
renewal. (The only exception to this is for .me.uk domains, and for
all UK domain names registered or transferred to us prior to August 2003,
for which the renewal charge remains 15 pounds for two years.)
We will contact you by e-mail with renewal instructions well
in advance of your domain's renewal date, to minimise
any risk of your domain lapsing by mistake.
Of course, you may prefer to "shop around" and register your domain yourself.
If so, simply point your domain at our name servers and select
the appropriate check box when filling out our web hosting
order form.
We are currently offering FREE registration of your (main) domain name if you
sign up for our Professional Plan.
We will also renew your (main) domain without charge as long
as you are still using our Professional Plan to host your site.
All domains are registered with you as the owner (or "registrant"). You are, of
course, free to take your domain with you to another web host in the unlikely event
that you decide to move on from Efficient Hosting at some time in the future.
We don't charge an outgoing transfer fee.
